The grid wavers before it trips.

Instability on a power network shows as sub-cycle phase drift long before a protective relay reacts. Snapmatics reads the drift as it forms — fast enough to matter at grid speed.

Frequency still reads nominal. The phase relationship is already drifting — the gold mark is where coherence first breaks, ahead of any relay.

The tell · in a power network

A grid loses coherence before it loses stability.

A stable grid holds its phase and frequency in a tight, coherent relationship. As instability builds, that coherence slips at the sub-cycle level — well before frequency wanders far enough for a protective relay to act. Snapmatics reads the slip directly.

Because the read is continuous and structural rather than threshold-based, it works both directions — flagging a node sliding toward instability and confirming one settling back. At grid speed, seeing the turn early is the whole game.

What we’re building toward

The read is continuous and sub-cycle. Validation on public grid records is underway.

How the framework expresses in this world

One framework. The grid instrument it becomes.

Power & Grid isn’t a separate product — it’s Snapmatics, pointed at the network. The same four layers take a specific form here.

SnapIQ · the engine

Reads phase coherence

Computes how tightly the network is holding its phase-and-frequency relationship, continuously and at sub-cycle resolution.

SnapPrint · the fingerprint

Locates the weak node

Identifies where on the network coherence is breaking first, so operators know which node is drifting.

EIDOS · governance

Governs the trip decision

Holds the call until the signal is real, so a flag supports an operator’s action rather than adding noise.

EVE · the frontier

Explains the instability

Where licensed, EVE turns the read into plain language for a control-room operator working in seconds.

Power & Grid · in development
